Colour tattoo questions.
Does colour fade faster than black and grey?
Lighter colours such as yellow and pastel shades can soften sooner than black, especially in the sun. Solid structure and daily sunscreen once healed keep colour bright. See our guide to sunscreen on tattoos.
What is the difference between neo-traditional and watercolour?
Neo-traditional uses bold outlines and rich, solid colour. Watercolour uses soft washes and splashes, usually with some linework so the design keeps its shape as it ages.
Does colour take longer to heal?
Healing time is similar to any tattoo, usually about two weeks on the surface. Larger colour areas can feel more tender at first. Keep it out of the sea, pools and direct sun while it heals.
